Plants vs. Zombies on DS is still one of the best ways to play this classic. You start off simple—planting peashooters to fend off a few slow zombies—but before long, you're juggling sunflowers for resources, wall-nuts as barriers, and cherry bombs for emergencies. The zombies get weirder too, like the ones with traffic cones on their heads or the pole-vaulters that leap over your defenses.
The touchscreen makes placing plants feel natural, though I still panic-tap sometimes when a wave of zombies shows up unannounced. And yeah, the graphics are cartoony, but that’s part of the charm—watching a dancing zombie shuffle toward your lawn never gets old. If you’ve got a DS lying around, this version holds up surprisingly well.
