Phantasy Star III is one of those weird, ambitious RPGs that tried something different—your choices actually shape the next generation of heroes. You start off with a wedding (yeah, not your typical "go kill rats" opener), and before long, you're jumping between timelines, seeing how your decisions play out decades later. The combat's classic turn-based stuff, but the real hook is watching your legacy unfold—mess up a choice early on, and your grandkids might be stuck cleaning up the mess.

It’s got that old-school Sega Genesis charm—pixelated towns, synth-heavy music that somehow still slaps, and random battles that’ll keep you grinding. The EasyType version smooths out some of the rougher edges, so it’s less punishing than the original. Not gonna lie, the story gets convoluted (time travel usually does), but there’s something satisfying about seeing how everything connects across generations. If you’re into retro RPGs with big ideas, this one’s worth digging up.
