Pete Sampras Tennis (j-cart) (mdstee 13) Game

Pete Sampras Tennis on the Genesis is one of those early 90s sports games that somehow still feels good to play. You pick from a handful of real-life pros (obviously Sampras is the main draw), choose your court surface, and then it’s straight into the action—no frills, just tennis.
The controls are simple—slice, lob, or smash with a couple of button presses—but timing matters way more than you’d think. Grass courts play faster, clay slows things down, and if you don’t position yourself right, you’ll be scrambling for returns. The AI isn’t brutal, but it punishes lazy shots.
What’s cool is the J-Cart version—it has two controller ports built into the cartridge itself, so you can plug in a second player without needing a multitap. Perfect for quick matches against a friend. Graphically, it’s typical Genesis-era sprites, but the animation’s smooth, and the ball physics actually feel decent.
It’s not flashy, but if you want a no-nonsense tennis game from that era, this one holds up better than most.
