Party Quiz Mega Q is one of those weird, charming early '90s Japanese quiz games that never made it overseas. It's got that classic Sega Genesis aesthetic—bright colors, chunky sprites, and a soundtrack that sounds like someone mashed a keyboard near a karaoke machine.

You pick from a bunch of oddball characters (my favorite’s the guy with the giant sunglasses) and answer trivia questions in Japanese. Even if you don’t know the language, half the fun is guessing based on the wild multiple-choice options. Sometimes the questions make zero sense, and that’s kind of the appeal.

It’s definitely more of a novelty than a serious quiz game, but there’s something oddly addictive about its chaotic energy. If you’re into obscure retro stuff, this one’s a weird little time capsule.
