PGA Tour Golf II on the Genesis is one of those early golf sims that somehow nails the feel of the sport without drowning you in realism. You pick your golfer, adjust the wind and club, then swing with that satisfying three-click meter—mess up the timing, and your ball’s heading straight for the rough. The courses look simple by today’s standards, but there’s something weirdly addictive about chipping onto the green just right.
It’s got that classic EA Sports vibe, where the commentary is sparse but the gameplay holds up. I still remember grinding to shave strokes off my score at Augusta. If you’ve got nostalgia for 16-bit sports games, this one’s a solid round.
