About Outrun (usa, Europe)
OutRun came to the Sega Genesis in 1991, a home port of Sega's popular arcade game. It was a release that fit right into the era, offering a slice of arcade driving on a home console without the need for quarters.
You control the driver of a red Ferrari, navigating a winding road from a behind the car perspective. The main goal is simply to reach the next checkpoint before your timer runs out. Your key mechanics are steering to avoid traffic and scenery, shifting between high and low gears for better control on corners, and at the end of each stage, choosing your next route from two possible paths. The game moves at a brisk pace, demanding quick reactions to the constantly curving road and oncoming cars.
