About Nintendogs - Dachshund & Friends
Nintendogs: Dachshund & Friends came out for the Nintendo DS in 2005, developed and published by Nintendo. It was one of those early DS titles that really showed off what the handheld could do, using the touch screen and microphone in a way that felt new at the time. The game fit right into that era where portable gaming was becoming more personal and interactive.
You take care of a virtual puppy, controlling everything through the touch screen. Your main goal is simply to raise a happy, healthy dog. You use the stylus to pet your dog, toss a frisbee for it to catch, and give vocal commands through the DS microphone. Other key activities include walking your dog to find presents and entering it in disc competitions or obedience trials to earn money for new toys and supplies. The pace is slow and gentle; there is no way to lose, only to build a routine with your pet. It feels like having a cheerful, low maintenance companion living in your pocket.
