About Nintendogs - Chihuahua & Friends (eu)
Nintendogs: Chihuahua & Friends came out for the Nintendo DS in 2005, developed and published by Nintendo. It was part of that early wave of DS games that really used the touch screen and microphone, making it feel different from anything on the Game Boy Advance or home consoles at the time.
You take care of a virtual puppy, chosen from a few breeds like the Chihuahua or Miniature Pinscher. The main goal is simply to raise a happy, healthy dog. You use the stylus to pet your dog, toss a frisbee for it to catch, and give it baths. The microphone lets you call your puppy by name and teach it voice commands like "sit". You can enter competitions, like the disc tournament, to earn money for new toys and supplies. The pace is slow and relaxed; there is no way to lose, only to build a routine of feeding, walking, and playing. It feels like having a cheerful, low maintenance pet living in your pocket.
