Naruto Shippuden: Ninja Council 4 is one of those DS games that actually makes decent use of the touchscreen—you’ll be swiping to pull off jutsu like Rasengan and Chidori, which feels way more satisfying than just button-mashing. The story follows early Shippuden arcs, so you’re dealing with Akatsuki, rescuing Gaara, all that good stuff.
Combat’s simple but fast, with a mix of melee combos and ninjutsu that keeps fights from getting stale. Some characters definitely feel stronger than others (looking at you, Naruto and Sasuke), but experimenting with the roster is half the fun. The side-scrolling levels can get repetitive, but boss fights against Deidara or Itachi? Those still hold up.
If you’re into the series or just want a solid portable action game, this one’s worth digging up.
