Naruto: Path of the Ninja 2 is one of those DS RPGs that actually gets the ninja vibe right—none of that watered-down, button-mashy stuff. You start off with Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura doing basic missions, but before long, you're juggling jutsu combos and managing chakra like a real shinobi. The turn-based battles feel tactical, especially when you're setting up team attacks or countering enemy moves.
What surprised me was how much the game leans into exploration. You’ll poke around Hidden Leaf Village, crawl through caves, and even stumble into some side quests that aren’t just fetch missions. The story sticks close to the early Shippuden arcs, so if you’ve watched the anime, you’ll recognize the big moments—though it throws in a few curveballs.
It’s not perfect (some of the random encounters drag), but the way it blends classic RPG mechanics with Naruto’s world makes it way more fun than it had any right to be. If you’ve got a DS and even a passing interest in ninjas, this one’s a solid pick.
