Nakayoshi Pet Advance Series 4: Kawaii Koinu Mini: Wan came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2004, published by MTO. It was part of a wave of virtual pet games on the platform, a time when raising digital companions was a popular way to pass the time. This one focused specifically on caring for a small, cartoonish puppy.
You control a cursor to interact with your puppy, feeding it, giving it water, and playing simple mini games like fetch or tug of war to keep its mood and health meters high. The main goal is simply to raise a happy, well adjusted dog over time. Signature mechanics include brushing its fur with the stylus to keep it clean and taking it for walks on a fixed path, screen by screen, where it can sometimes find items.
