NFL Sports Talk Football '93 is one of those Genesis sports games that somehow still holds up—mostly because it doesn’t take itself too seriously. Yeah, Joe Montana’s on the cover, but the real star here is the goofy announcer who never shuts up. "First down! Woo!" You’ll either love him or mute your TV after five minutes.
Gameplay’s straightforward: pick a team, call basic plays, and try not to fumble every time someone breathes on your running back. The graphics are pure early '90s—blocky players, choppy animations—but there’s something charming about how hard it tries to feel like a real broadcast. Just don’t expect Madden-level depth. This is the kind of game where you can accidentally throw a 60-yard Hail Mary because the passing mechanics are… optimistic.
Perfect for quick couch multiplayer if you’ve got a friend who remembers what a Sega Genesis is. Just don’t blame me when the commentary loops for the third time in a row.
