NFL Quarterback Club on the Sega Genesis was one of those mid-90s football games that felt like a big deal when you first booted it up—real NFL teams, actual player names (well, close enough), and stadiums that almost looked like the real thing. The passing mechanics were surprisingly solid for the time, though good luck threading a perfect spiral when the defense is breathing down your neck.

I remember spending way too much time in the playbook screen, trying to figure out which audibles actually worked. The running game was a little stiff, but if you got the timing right on a deep pass? That was the good stuff. And yeah, the commentary gets repetitive after a while, but hearing "TOUCHDOWN!" in that grainy voice never got old.

It’s not Madden, but for a Genesis football game, it holds up better than most. Just don’t expect modern controls—this is pure retro, warts and all.
