About Nfl Football '94 (japan)
NFL Football '94 came out for the Sega Genesis in 1993, developed by Sega. It was the follow up to Sportstalk Football '93, and it was fully licensed by the NFL and the players' union. This meant you had all 28 teams and over 800 real players from the 1992 season right there on the cartridge.
You control the entire team, picking plays from a large playbook on both offense and defense. The main goal is to outscore your opponent by moving the ball down the field. Two mechanics that stood out were the play calling system, which felt more involved than in some other games, and the player animations, which were quite detailed for the time. The game could be challenging, especially against a good human opponent, and the pacing was quick. It feels responsive and solid when you execute a play correctly.
