NFL '98 was the last Madden game to hit the Sega Genesis, and honestly, it's a solid send-off for the console. You get that classic 16-bit football action—crunchy tackles, pixelated end zone dances, and playbooks that somehow feel deeper than they look. The rosters are updated for the '97 season, so you can finally live out your "what if Barry Sanders kept playing?" fantasies.

It’s got that old-school Madden jank—sometimes the AI makes bizarre calls, and the graphics are definitely showing their age—but there’s a weird charm to it. If you’ve got a Genesis still kicking around, it’s worth a few quarters of nostalgia before moving on to the PlayStation era.
