Nba Live ’98 Game

NBA Live '98 on Sega Genesis is one of those games that just feels right if you grew up with 16-bit basketball. The controls are snappy—no weird delays when you pass or shoot—and the players actually move like they’ve got some weight to them, unlike some of the floaty arcade-style hoops games from back then.
First thing you’ll notice? The roster. Late ‘90s NBA legends everywhere: Shaq bulldozing through the lane, Stockton dishing no-look passes, MJ… well, being MJ. The graphics are obviously pixelated by today’s standards, but there’s something satisfying about how clean the animations are, especially when you pull off a fast break or block a shot at the rim.
It’s not perfect—the AI can be a little predictable on defense, and good luck making every three-pointer unless you’re Reggie Miller. But for a Genesis basketball game, it holds up way better than it has any right to. If you’ve got nostalgia for this era of sports games, it’s still a blast to fire up for a quick game.
