About Nba Jam (usa, Europe)
NBA Jam came out for the Sega Genesis in 1994, published by Midway. It was a time when arcade-style sports games were becoming a big deal on home consoles, and this one stood out immediately. You didn't need to know complex plays; you just picked it up and started playing.
You control a team of two NBA players, running up and down a single screen court. The main goal is to outscore your opponent, but the real fun is in how you do it. You can perform turbo-charged dunks from halfway across the court, and if you make several shots in a row, the announcer shouts "He's on fire!" and your player becomes nearly unstoppable for a short time. The game moves at a breakneck pace, with constant back-and-forth action and very little stoppage. It feels chaotic and over-the-top, a pure rush of fast-paced basketball mayhem.
