Muhammad Ali Heavyweight Boxing (beta) Game

Muhammad Ali Heavyweight Boxing on the Genesis is exactly what it sounds like—you step into the ring as The Greatest himself, bobbing and weaving through some seriously old-school pixelated opponents. The controls are simple but satisfying: jab, hook, uppercut, and of course, float like a butterfly when you need to dodge. The sprites are chunky in that classic 16-bit way, and Ali’s signature shuffle actually looks pretty good for the era.
What surprised me was how much strategy sneaks in—you can’t just button-mash your way to victory. Timing your dodges and picking your shots matters, especially against tougher opponents. The Game Boy version exists too, but the Genesis one’s where it’s at if you want those bigger, smoother animations. It’s a solid pick if you’re into retro sports games with a bit of punch (pun very much intended).
