Midway Presents Arcade's Greatest Hits is basically a nostalgia bomb for anyone who remembers feeding quarters into those big, clunky arcade cabinets. It’s got six classic Williams games—yeah, the same folks who made those ridiculously addictive pinball tables. You’re looking at stuff like Defender, where you’re frantically blasting aliens while rescuing astronauts (way harder than it sounds), and Joust, which is just as weirdly satisfying now as it was back then—flapping around on an ostrich, knocking knights off their birds.
The emulation isn’t perfect, but it’s close enough that you’ll still get that old-school arcade feel. Some of these games haven’t aged gracefully—Sinistar still scares the hell out of me with its creepy voice clips—but that’s part of the charm. If you’ve got a Genesis lying around, it’s a solid way to kill an afternoon pretending it’s 1982 again.
