Micro Machines Turbo Tourn. ’96 Game

Micro Machines Turbo Tournament '96 is one of those games where you instantly forget you're racing toy cars—until you slam into a rogue pencil or get stuck behind a cereal box. The tracks are wild: one second you're weaving through breakfast leftovers on a kitchen table, the next you're skidding across a pool table dodging billiard balls. The perspective makes everything feel faster than it should, especially when you're neck-and-neck with three other players.
It’s got that perfect balance of chaos and control—you can tell the devs knew exactly how slippery a toy car on a bathtub should feel. The AI isn’t pushover either; they’ll shove you into a textbook or steal your lead if you let off the gas for half a second. And yeah, the multiplayer’s where it really shines, especially if you’ve got friends who don’t mind a little (okay, a lot) of screen-cheating.
Still holds up as one of the best top-down racers on the Genesis. Just watch out for the garden level—those sprinklers are brutal.
