Mega Games 3 is one of those classic Sega Genesis compilations that feels like a time capsule—three games bundled together, all with that unmistakable early '90s energy. You’ve got Super Monaco GP (arcade racing with tight corners and questionable AI), Columns (Sega’s answer to Tetris, but with gems and way more pastel colors), and World Cup Italia '90 (clunky but weirdly charming soccer action).
It’s the kind of collection where you’ll fire it up, spend five minutes trying to remember how Columns even works, then switch to Monaco GP just to hear that cheesy engine rev sound. The soccer game’s a bit rough by today’s standards, but there’s something hilarious about the way the players slide around like they’re on ice. Definitely a nostalgia trip if you grew up with a Genesis.
You can play it on emulators now, but it still feels best with a chunky controller in hand.
