Marsupilami is one of those weird, charming platformers from the Genesis era that somehow makes jumping around as a long-tailed monkey-cat-thing feel totally natural. You swing from vines, bounce on enemies, and collect fruit like it’s nobody’s business—all while the music keeps things surprisingly upbeat.
The controls take a second to get used to (that tail has a mind of its own), but once you figure out the timing, swinging through levels feels smooth. Some of the later stages get pretty chaotic, with enemies popping up everywhere, but it’s the kind of challenge that makes you want to try just one more time.
If you’re into retro platformers with personality, this one’s a solid pick.
