Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga Plus is one of those GBA RPGs that just nails the balance between goofy charm and solid turn-based combat. You start off with Mario and Luigi bouncing around Beanbean Kingdom—jumping on enemies, dodging attacks with timed button presses, and pulling off ridiculous Bros. Moves like the Spin Jump or Firebrand. The writing’s full of dumb jokes (Luigi gets roasted constantly), and the sprite work still holds up.

This version’s got some extra content, like a new minion battle mode where you control Bowser’s troops, which is a fun twist. The first time I played, I got stuck for way too long on that damn Chucklehuck Woods puzzle, but hey—that’s part of the charm. If you missed this back in the day, it’s a great way to kill time with something lighthearted but surprisingly deep.
