Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga Plus is one of those GBA RPGs that just nails the balance between goofy charm and legit strategy. You control both brothers in turn-based battles where timing your button presses actually matters—mess up a jump and Luigi faceplants, nail it and you get bonus damage. The v1.5 mod tweaks some of the original’s jankier difficulty spikes, so fights feel fair but still keep you on your toes.

First ten minutes? You’re immediately thrown into Beanbean Kingdom’s weirdness—Mario’s voice gets stolen by a witch, and Luigi’s… well, being Luigi. The sprite animations alone are worth it, from Mario’s cocky little fist pump to Luigi’s nervous shuffling. Pro tip: don’t sleep on the bros’ combo moves—they start simple, but later ones turn battles into chaotic slapstick routines.
