Mario & Luigi : Superstar Saga Plus Game

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga Plus is one of those GBA gems that still holds up. You start off with the usual Mushroom Kingdom setup—Bowser does something dumb, Peach gets kidnapped—but then it flips the script. Instead of just running and jumping, you're controlling both brothers at once, timing their attacks and dodges in turn-based battles that actually feel active.
The Plus version adds some extra content, like a new mini-game with Bowser’s minions, but the real charm is in the writing. The dialogue’s goofy in the best way (Luigi’s reactions alone are worth it), and the sprite animations are surprisingly expressive for a GBA game. First time I played, I got stuck for way too long figuring out how to use their hammer jumps in sync—totally worth it when it finally clicked.
If you’ve got a soft spot for RPGs with personality, this one’s a no-brainer.
