Mario & Luigi RPG 2x2 is one of those DS games that makes you wonder why more RPGs don’t play like this. You control both brothers at the same time—jumping, hammering, and dodging attacks in sync—and it somehow never feels clunky. The first time you pull off a perfectly timed double jump to avoid a Goomba’s charge, it just clicks.

It’s got that classic Mario RPG humor too, with Luigi nervously sweating through every cutscene and Bowser being, well, Bowser. The battles are turn-based but keep you on your toes with quick-time dodges and counterattacks. Honestly, the only downside is trying to explain to friends why you’re laughing at a green mustache man’s existential crisis.
