About Mario Golf : Advance Tour
Mario Golf: Advance Tour came out for the Game Boy Advance, developed by Camelot. It was part of that era where you could take a surprisingly deep sports game with you anywhere, fitting right in with other portable RPG hybrids.
You create a custom golfer and guide them through a clubhouse hub, talking to characters and accepting challenges to improve your skills. The main goal is to rise through the ranks by winning tournaments, but a big part of the game is exploring the overworld to find new opponents and items. Signature mechanics include the three-click swing meter for timing your shots and the ability to put spin on the ball after you make contact. The RPG progression is steady, letting you earn experience points to permanently boost your power and control. It feels like a satisfying grind where every round makes your golfer a little more capable.
