M-1 Abrams Battle Tank on the Genesis is exactly what it sounds like—you’re in a tank, blowing stuff up. No frills, no fancy gimmicks, just you and a chunky pixelated M-1 rolling through deserts, forests, and enemy bases. The controls take a second to get used to (turning feels a little stiff at first), but once you get the hang of lining up shots while dodging return fire, it’s weirdly satisfying.
Missions start simple—take out a few enemy tanks, clear a path—but later levels throw in helicopters, bunkers, and tight corridors where one wrong move leaves you stuck. The graphics are pure early ‘90s Sega, with explosions that look like someone smeared red and orange paint everywhere. Not gonna lie, the difficulty spikes hard around the halfway point, but that just makes finally clearing a mission feel like an actual victory.
If you’re into retro military games or just want to see what tank sims were like before they got all realistic, this one’s a solid time capsule. Just don’t expect a walk in the park.
