Legend of Galahad is one of those classic Sega Genesis platformers that feels like it should’ve been bigger than it was. You play as Leander, a knight with a sword that’s way too big for his sprite, hacking through waves of monsters in this medieval fantasy world. The controls are a little stiff at first—expect some awkward jumps—but once you get used to it, there’s something satisfying about the way he swings that blade.

The levels are packed with hidden paths and power-ups, though some of the enemy placements feel downright cruel. I remember getting ambushed by bats one too many times. Still, the art holds up surprisingly well, with these moody castles and eerie forests that give it a darker vibe than your usual platformer. If you’re into old-school challenge, it’s got that in spades.

Just don’t expect a walk in the park—this one makes you work for it.
