Okay, so Lawnmower Man on Genesis is... weird. Like, the kind of weird where you boot it up and immediately think, "Wait, this was based on a movie?" It’s a bizarre mix of gameplay styles—one minute you’re mowing lawns in this weird top-down view, the next you’re in a first-person VR maze (or at least what passed for VR in 1993).
Honestly, the controls feel a little stiff, especially when you’re trying to dodge mutant dogs or whatever those things are. But there’s something oddly charming about how all over the place it is. The soundtrack’s got this eerie synth vibe that kinda works, though.
If you’re into retro games that feel like they were made after someone watched a cyberpunk movie on fast-forward, this might be worth a laugh. Just don’t expect it to make much sense.
