Last Window - The Secret of Cape West is one of those DS gems that flew under the radar, which is a shame because it nails that late-night detective noir vibe. You play as Kyle Hyde, a former cop turned hotel clerk, and the whole thing plays out like a slow-burn mystery novel—except you're poking around Cape West’s weirdly atmospheric apartment building, talking to shady tenants, and piecing together clues from random objects.
The puzzles aren’t just "find the key" busywork either—some actually make you think, like reconstructing torn-up letters or decoding weird symbols. And the writing? Surprisingly sharp, with dialogue that actually sounds like real people talking (well, real people in a slightly surreal, slightly melancholic world).
If you liked Hotel Dusk, this is basically its moodier sequel. Just don’t expect action—it’s all about the atmosphere and unraveling the story at your own pace.
