LEGO Harry Potter - Years 5-7 on DS is basically the second half of Hogwarts, but with that classic LEGO charm—you know, the kind where even Voldemort looks kinda cute as a blocky minifig. You start off in the middle of the chaos—Order of the Phoenix stuff—and from there, it’s all about wrecking stuff with spells, rebuilding it into weird contraptions, and occasionally turning random goons into chickens. The puzzles are simple but satisfying, like using Wingardium Leviosa to stack LEGO bricks into a bridge or blasting apart a wall to find a hidden collectible.
What’s cool is how they crammed so much of the movies into tiny DS levels. You’ll hop from the Ministry of Magic to the Battle of Hogwarts, and yeah, some bits feel rushed, but the humor (like Ron getting attacked by love potion cupcakes) makes up for it. The spell-switching gets a little fiddly on the small screen, but once you get the hang of it, zapping dark wizards with stupefy never gets old. Just don’t expect deep storytelling—it’s LEGO, so the drama’s mostly told through exaggerated mime and goofy sound effects.
If you’ve played the first LEGO Harry Potter, this is more of the same, just with more dragons and way more Weasley twins causing havoc. It’s a solid pick for killing time on a bus ride or if you just wanna smash things in Diagon Alley without consequences.
