LEGO Lord of the Rings on DS is basically the entire trilogy crammed into one tiny cartridge, and somehow it works. You start off as Frodo in the Shire, smashing barrels and building LEGO bridges like it’s no big deal—until, you know, the Nazgûl show up and things get real.
The game nails that classic LEGO charm—Gollum’s got this weird little smirk, Gandalf’s beard clips through his robes, and even the Balrog looks kinda cute in block form. Combat’s simple but satisfying, especially when Legolas starts rapid-firing arrows like he’s got unlimited ammo (because he basically does).
Puzzles are everywhere—some make you swap characters to use their abilities (Gimli’s axe breaks special walls, Sam cooks food to heal the party), while others just need you to smash everything in sight until something useful appears. The DS version’s a bit stripped down compared to consoles, but it’s still a solid way to relive the movies with that goofy LEGO spin.
Just don’t expect deep storytelling—half the dialogue’s mumbled gibberish, but the cutscenes are hilarious anyway.
