About Kuuga ? Operation Code ?vapor Trail?
Kuuga: Operation Code 'Vapor Trail' came out for the Sega Genesis in 1991 from Data East Corporation. It was part of that wave of side-scrolling shooters that filled the shelves back then, a familiar style for anyone who owned the console. The game didn't necessarily redefine the genre, but it offered a solid, specific take on the formula that was common for its time.
You pilot a fighter jet through horizontally scrolling stages, shooting down enemy aircraft and ground targets. Your main goal is to survive each level and defeat the boss waiting at the end. Two mechanics stand out: you can switch between two different weapon sets on the fly, and your ship has a limited supply of screen-clearing smart bombs for emergencies. The pacing is relentless, with enemy fire filling the screen and demanding quick reflexes.
