Justice League Task Force is one of those mid-90s fighting games that feels like it was made for Saturday morning cereal sessions. You’ve got Batman throwing batarangs, Superman doing that awkward flying punch, and Wonder Woman’s lasso actually working as a weirdly effective ranged attack. The roster’s small but solid—I always ended up picking Flash because his speed made combos feel chaotic in the best way.
It’s not Street Fighter, but the controls are simple enough that you can pull off special moves without memorizing a flowchart. The stages are these bright, comic-booky backdrops (Gotham at night, Metropolis skyline), and yeah, the sprites are chunky Genesis-era stuff, but there’s charm in how Superman’s cape flaps like a stiff piece of cardboard. Play against a friend, and it’s pure button-mashing fun; against the AI, you’ll notice the computer cheats like crazy on higher difficulties. Still, it’s a weirdly specific slice of DC nostalgia if you’re into that era.
