Junker’s High Game

Junker’s High is one of those weird, grimy Genesis games that sticks with you—like if someone mashed up Mad Max with a flea market and gave it a killer soundtrack. You play as this scrapper digging through junkyards full of broken robots, rusted-out cars, and traps that’ll wreck you if you’re not careful. The first level alone has these creepy vending machines that spit out hazards, and I still don’t know if they’re enemies or just badly programmed.
Controls are simple—run, jump, swing a pipe—but the levels twist in ways you don’t expect. One minute you’re hopping over oil pits, the next you’re dodging falling refrigerators while some guy in a welding mask yells at you from a busted TV. The pixel art’s got this grungy charm, all neon signs and peeling metal, and the music? Pure early ‘90s synth chaos. It’s janky in places (good luck with the ladder physics), but that’s part of the fun. If you’ve got a soft spot for forgotten Sega oddballs, this one’s worth digging up.
