About Judge Dredd (beta) (alt)
Judge Dredd (Beta) (Alt) is an unreleased version of the Sega Genesis game, developed by Krisalis Software and published by Acclaim Entertainment. It exists as a prototype from that era of licensed titles, built around the 1995 Sylvester Stallone film and its comic book origins.
You control Judge Dredd through side scrolling levels, moving screen by screen while shooting at criminals with your Lawgiver pistol. The main goal is to progress through the futuristic city, clearing each area of enemies. Signature mechanics include switching between different ammo types, like standard rounds and ricochet shots, and using a grappling hook to reach higher platforms. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be unforgiving with aggressive enemy placement. Playing it feels like a methodical, sometimes punishing, tour of Mega City One.
