About Juju Densetsu (japan)
JuJu Densetsu was a Japan only release for the Sega Genesis, known as the Mega Drive in that region. It was developed and published by Sega in 1993, placing it in the middle of the 16 bit era when platformers and action games were common. The game is a side scrolling platformer where you control a young boy named Juju who is on a quest to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend.
You guide Juju through a series of themed worlds, moving from left to right across the screen. Your main objective is to reach the end of each stage, defeating enemies and navigating environmental hazards along the way. Your primary method of attack is throwing bones as projectiles; you can collect power ups to increase your attack strength and range. The game features screen by screen progression, meaning you must clear all enemies on one screen before you can advance to the next. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be unforgiving with precise jumps and enemy patterns to learn. Playing it feels like a methodical test of your timing and pattern recognition.
