Izzy's Quest for the Olympic Rings is one of those weird little mascot platformers from the '90s—you know, the kind that got slapped together to promote an event. This time, it's the Atlanta Olympics, and you play as Izzy, that blue... thing with a star for a nose. The levels are themed around different sports, which is kinda neat, but the controls are stiff as a board. Jumping feels like you're stuck in molasses, and some of the obstacles are just cheap.
Still, there's something oddly charming about it. Maybe it's the chunky pixel art or the fact that someone actually thought Izzy deserved a whole game. You'll run, jump (badly), and collect Olympic rings while dodging random hazards like soccer balls and hurdles. It's not great, but if you're into obscure '90s oddities, it's a weird little time capsule.
Honestly, I only played it because I collect Genesis games, and even then, it mostly just sits on my shelf.
