Idaten Jump DS is one of those weird, fun little racing games that never made it outside Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this weird mix of bike racing and anime-style battles. You start off picking your rider (I went with the red-haired guy because, well, he looked the fastest), and before you know it, you’re boosting off ramps and pulling off mid-air tricks while trying to outrun rivals.

The tracks are wild—half the time you’re dodging obstacles or getting into these weird power-up clashes where you mash buttons to win. The Flame Kaiser mode is basically the game’s way of saying, "Okay, now go absolutely nuts with speed." It’s janky in that early DS kind of way, but honestly? That just adds to the charm.

If you’re into obscure racing games with a side of anime nonsense, this one’s a fun time. Just don’t expect it to take itself too seriously.
