I remember picking up Ice Age for the Sega Genesis back in 1995. It was published by Fox Interactive, one of those many licensed games that tried to capture a movie's feel on the 16-bit hardware. The Genesis was full of these platformers, and this one aimed to let you play through the film's story.

You control the woolly mammoth Manfred and the sloth Sid, switching between them to use their different abilities. Manfred is strong, able to break certain blocks and defeat larger enemies, while Sid can crawl into small passages. The main goal is to guide the lost human baby back to its tribe, which involves moving through side-scrolling levels filled with prehistoric hazards. You jump across icy platforms, avoid falling stalactites, and fend off saber-toothed tigers and dodos. Collecting fruit restores your health, and finding special items can grant extra lives. The game can be quite difficult, with slippery controls and enemies that respawn quickly, demanding careful timing. It feels like a standard but challenging movie tie-in from that era.
