About Herzog Zwei
Herzog Zwei came out for the Sega Genesis in 1989, developed by Technosoft. It was one of those games that felt different from everything else on the platform at the time, sitting in its own category rather than following the popular trends of the era.
You control a transforming mech that switches between a fast jet and a ground unit. Your main goal is to destroy the enemy base while defending your own. You capture neutral bases to generate units, then issue them simple commands like attack or defend from an overhead map. The strategy is constant; you are always moving, capturing points, and managing your resources while the enemy does the same. It can be brutally difficult, demanding your full attention across the entire battlefield. Playing it feels like a high-speed chess match where you are also one of the most powerful pieces on the board.
