Okay, so this is one of those weird retro gems—Harry Potter on the Sega Genesis. Yeah, it exists, and it’s actually kind of charming in a janky, early-90s way. You start off running around Hogwarts, casting spells with this awkward button combo system (good luck nailing Wingardium Leviosa on your first try). The pixel art is surprisingly cozy, though—Diagon Alley’s shops have these little flickering lanterns, and the ghosts float around like they’re stuck in slow motion.
Combat’s clunky but weirdly satisfying once you get the hang of it. You’ll duel trolls in the dungeons, dodge moving staircases, and yeah, eventually face off against You-Know-Who. It’s not exactly lore-accurate—Ron’s sprite looks like he’s permanently mid-sneeze—but there’s something fun about seeing the wizarding world through this chunky, 16-bit lens. Just don’t expect Hermione to recite the entire Hogwarts library at you.
If you’re into retro games or just love Harry Potter enough to forgive some jank, it’s a neat little time capsule. The music alone will stick in your head for days.
