Greatest Heavyweights is basically Real Deal Boxing 2.0—same punchy, arcade-style boxing but with way more fighters and a slicker feel. You’ve got legends like Tyson and Holyfield, plus some deep cuts from boxing history, all with their own little quirks in speed and power. The controls are simple—jab, hook, uppercut—but timing matters, and the AI doesn’t just stand there like a punching bag. First match in, I got rocked by a counter I didn’t see coming.
Visually, it’s a step up from the first game—bigger sprites, smoother animations—though the crowd still looks like cardboard cutouts. The ring announcer’s voice is hilariously over-the-top, which somehow makes landing a knockout even more satisfying. If you liked Real Deal Boxing, this one’s a no-brainer.
