About George Foreman's Ko Boxing
George Foreman's KO Boxing came out for the Sega Genesis in 1992, published by Acclaim Entertainment. It was part of that wave of sports games trying to capture a real athlete's appeal, and it landed right when Foreman was making his big comeback, so the timing felt relevant.
You control a boxer moving up through the ranks, with the main goal of winning the heavyweight championship. The fighting happens from a side view, and you throw jabs, hooks, and uppercuts with button combinations. You also have a stamina meter to manage; if you punch too much, your fighter gets tired and slow. Between fights, you travel from city to city on a map screen, taking on challengers one by one. The difficulty ramps up noticeably as you face faster and more powerful opponents who can knock you out quickly if you drop your guard. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes punishing test of your timing and patience.
