Buena Vista Interactive released Gargoyles for the Sega Genesis in 1995. You control the gargoyle Goliath, moving through side-scrolling levels to stop the villainous Xanatos. Your main goal is to fight through each stage, from a castle to a futuristic lab, defeating enemies and confronting bosses. You primarily use your claws for close combat, but you can also grab foes and throw them. The game is structured screen by screen; you clear all the enemies in one area before you can proceed to the next.
