Alright, so Garfield – Caught In The Act is one of those weirdly charming Genesis platformers that shouldn’t work but totally does. You play as Garfield (obviously), jumping through comic strip-style levels while dodging vacuum cleaners, angry chefs, and—for some reason—giant spiders. The controls are a little floaty at first, but once you get used to them, it’s surprisingly fun to knock enemies around with Garfield’s tail swipe.
The art style nails the comic’s vibe, with bright colors and exaggerated animations. And yeah, there’s lasagna—because of course there is. Some levels feel a bit trial-and-error, especially when you’re figuring out how to outsmart Odie or escape Nermal’s nonsense, but it’s got that goofy Garfield humor all the way through. Not the deepest platformer, but if you grew up with the comics, it’s a nostalgia trip worth taking.
Just don’t expect it to be easy—some of those jumps are brutal.
