G-LOC Air Battle is one of those classic arcade shooters that feels like it’s actively trying to throw you out of the sky. You start off in a fighter jet, and within seconds, enemy planes are swarming you from every angle—missiles locked, guns blazing. The controls are tight, though, so weaving through the chaos actually feels possible if you keep your cool.
What I love about this one is how it nails that arcade intensity without being unfair. The soundtrack’s got that early ‘90s synth energy, all urgent beats and adrenaline spikes, which somehow makes dodging a wall of bullets feel even more dramatic. And yeah, it’s tough—you’ll probably crash and burn a few times before getting the hang of it—but that first time you pull off a perfect loop to shake a tail? Pure satisfaction.
If you’re into retro shooters that don’t hold your hand, this one’s a blast. Just don’t blame me when you start hearing the alert sounds in your sleep.
