Fun Car Rally is one of those lost Sega Genesis prototypes that never got a proper release—which is a shame, because it’s a surprisingly solid little racer. You’ve got a handful of tracks with tight turns and some sneaky shortcuts, and the handling feels just floaty enough to make drifting around corners satisfying without being frustrating.

The graphics are basic, sure, but the sense of speed holds up, especially when you hit a straightaway and the scenery starts blurring past. I kept switching between the two cars to see which one felt better—the lighter one’s quicker but spins out easier, while the heavier one plows through turns like a tank. No idea why Sega shelved this one, but it’s definitely worth a few laps if you’re into retro racers.
