About Fun Car Rally
Fun Car Rally was released for the Sega Genesis, also known as the Mega Drive in some regions. It came out early in the console's life, a time when developers were exploring what the hardware could do with racing games. I don't recall the specific publisher offhand, but it was part of that wave of titles trying to establish a library for the new system.
You control a small, top-down car navigating through maze-like tracks. The main goal is to simply reach the finish line on each course. The gameplay is screen by screen; when you drive off one edge, you appear on the opposite side of the next screen. You have to avoid other traffic and sometimes navigate around obstacles or through narrow passages. The pacing is deliberate, more about careful steering than high speed, and the courses can get quite tricky. It feels like a straightforward but persistent puzzle you solve with your accelerator.
